About the author

Rachel McMillan is a Canadian author known for her works of historical fiction and mystery. She was born in Toronto, Canada, and has always had a passion for writing and storytelling. McMillan studied English and history at the University of Toronto, and later earned a degree in education.

McMillan’s writing career began with her blog, A Fair Substitute for Heaven, which explored her love for vintage and classic literature. She went on to publish her first novel, “The Herringford and Watts Mysteries: A Singular and Whimsical Problem”, which introduces readers to two female detectives in turn-of-the-century Toronto.

McMillan’s novels are known for their rich historical detail and vivid characterization, as well as their exploration of themes such as friendship, faith, and identity. Her other notable works include “The Van Buren and DeLuca Mysteries”, a series set in 1930s Boston, and “The London Restoration”, a romantic historical novel set in post-World War II London.
