Amanda Quick is the pseudonym used by Jayne Ann Krentz, an American author of romance novels. She was born on March 28, 1948, in Cobb, California. Krentz studied at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she received a degree in history. She went on to earn a master’s degree in library science from San Jose State University.

Krentz began writing under the pseudonym Amanda Quick in 1990, and since then, she has written numerous historical romance novels under that name. She has also written contemporary romance novels under her real name and under the pseudonyms Jayne Castle and Jayne Taylor.

Quick’s novels often feature independent, intelligent heroines and strong, protective heroes in a variety of historical settings, from Regency England to Victorian America. Her books have been bestsellers and have received many awards, including the RITA Award from the Romance Writers of America.
