About The Author

III Dubus, Andre is an American writer of short stories, novels and essays. He is the son of the late Andre Dubus, a renowned author and teacher of creative writing. He was born in 1959 in Northampton, Massachusetts, and grew up in Texas, Louisiana and Iowa.

He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in sociology and worked as a carpenter, bartender and private investigator before pursuing a career in writing. He published his first collection of stories, The Cage Keeper and Other Stories, in 1989, followed by his debut novel, Bluesman, in 1993.
