When Lila agreed to house-sit for her aunt during the holidays, she didn’t expect to find herself sharing the cozy cabin with a handsome stranger. Jake was supposed to be on a ski trip with his friends, but a snowstorm stranded him at the mountain retreat. Now they have to make the best of the situation, and maybe even find some romance along the way.

Lila had always dreamed of a white Christmas, but this was not what she had in mind. She had packed her bags and left the city, hoping to escape the stress and loneliness of her life. She was looking forward to spending some quality time with her aunt, who had invited her to stay at her cabin in the woods. But when she arrived, she found a note on the door that said:

“Dear Lila,

I’m so sorry for the inconvenience, but I had to leave for an emergency. My sister is in the hospital and I need to be with her. I hope you understand. I’ll be back as soon as I can.

The cabin is all yours. Make yourself at home. There’s plenty of food in the fridge and firewood in the shed. The key is under the mat.

There’s one thing you should know. My neighbor’s son, Jake, is staying at the cabin next door. He’s a nice guy, very friendly and helpful. He might drop by to check on you or offer some assistance. Don’t be shy to accept his help. He’s a good company.

Lila felt a pang of disappointment and worry. She hoped her aunt’s sister was okay and that she would be back soon. She also felt a bit nervous about staying alone in a strange place, especially with a snowstorm coming. She wondered who this Jake was and what he looked like. She hoped he wasn’t some creepy old man or a rude jerk.

She unlocked the door and entered the cabin. It was warm and cozy, with a fireplace, a sofa, a kitchenette, and a bedroom. It looked like a perfect place to relax and unwind. Lila smiled and decided to make the best of it. She unpacked her suitcase and put on some comfortable clothes. She made herself a cup of hot chocolate and sat on the sofa, looking out the window.

The snow was falling softly, covering the trees and the ground with a white blanket. It looked beautiful and peaceful. Lila felt a surge of happiness and gratitude. Maybe this was exactly what she needed: a break from her hectic life, a chance to reconnect with nature, and maybe even find some love.

She didn’t notice the knock on the door until it was too loud to ignore. She got up and opened it, curious to see who it was.

She gasped when she saw him.

He was tall and muscular, with dark hair and blue eyes. He wore a ski jacket, jeans, boots, and a beanie hat. He had a backpack slung over his shoulder and a smile on his face.
